Hate/Love

April 18th, 2007 by kenistheway

Why
must there be hate? Why
is there an anti-thesis? An anti-matter?
A black hole that wreaks havoc
over cosmic order? Or is disorder,
in fact, the order of the universe?
Chaos, the nature? Hate,
the norm rather than the abnorm?

True,
it is harder to elicit love from woman
than to prod hatred from fellowman.
But I do love a woman.
And love to hate her, too,
sometimes. For the black hole
she unleashes in my heart
sucks the very life out of me.

Yet,
I would gladly be anti-matter
if it meant winning her favor.
So, what choice is there but
to learn how to hate…if only
to convey to my beloved with
authority how much I would
hate to lose her love?

Desert Quotes

“What makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides a well.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupery

“Sunshine all the time makes a desert” — Arab Proverb

“Let me tell you something that we Israelis have against Moses. He took us 40 years through the desert in order to bring us to the one spot in the Middle East that has no oil!” — Golda Meir

“You should not see the desert simply as some faraway place of little rain. There are many forms of thirst.” — William Langewiesche

“Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife” — the Bible

“When one speaks of the soul’s desert, and says that the desert must be present in your life, you must not think only of the Sahara or the desert of Judea…If you cannot go into the desert, you must nonetheless “make some desert” in your life. Every now and then leaving everybody and looking for solitude to restore, in prolonged silence and prayer, the stuff of your soul. This is the meaning of ‘desert’ in your life…you must leave everything and everybody and retire, alone with God. If you don’t look for this solitude, if you don’t love it, you won’t achieve real contemplative prayer.” — Carlo Carretto

“And I miss you…like the deserts miss the rain.” — Everything But The Girl

“Want to know what being lost in the desert feels like? Wait until you lose someone you love.” — Kenway BarcelonaDesert6
